The Wheels in Motion documentary explores the campaign by the members of the Sydney Bus Museum and local residents to protect the historic Tempe tram depot site from redevelopment and preserve a significant vintage bus collection. The film highlights a part of Sydney’s industrial and cultural heritage that may be little known and under appreciated.


Wheels in Motion uncovers and celebrates the subculture of the bus enthusiast and their fascination with these great icons of Sydney’s past. The documentary explores the passions of the volunteers at the Sydney Bus Museum who built up the largest collection of vintage buses in Australia over 20 years.




Combining archival film footage and photographs, interviews and contemporary footage, Wheels in Motion reveals the historic role these buses have played in the working and social life of Sydney.


The documentary length is 28 minutes.
